I am furious. No, I am beyond furious at the ridiculous insistence that I renounce my Libertarian party affiliation in favor of the Democratic or Republican party on the basis of someone's opinion that I am "wasting my vote". The "wasting your vote" lie is one that has been perpetuated to keep the major parties in play. It is a lie that serves the two major parties, and often works as a disincentive for informed voters who truly want to find a candidate aligned with their issues. When I...
We are writing to you, who have entered our database as third party voters, to recognize the futility of your efforts. The system of voting in the United States is set up as a two party system, and it will remain so despite your fervent efforts to have it otherwise. A vote for a third party is a wasted vote; you would do as well staying home on election day. The candidates of the two leading parties have proven themselves to be the best qualified, most intelligent candidates to lead this n...
Reset your homepages, ladies and gentlemen. No longer can you rely on CNN and MSNBC to relay the breaking news people really want to hear. Now, Joeuser is quickly taking the place of the news source of the completely informed. Today's earthshaking breaking news story, detailing John Kerry's father raping tendencies ( Link ) are only the latest in a long line of news stories that have broken right here on joeuser. On July 15, I was first to report Kerry's penchant for puppy mutilation ( Lin...

Well, folks, it's a glorious day and the sun is shining over the city of Boston. The Bosox now stand 2 1/2 games behind the New York Yankees and the Yanks are minus one stellar pitcher in Kevin Brown who hit the clubhouse with his hand in disgust following their loss. Now, I'm not one to revel in others' misfortune, but...it's the YANKEES. Even if I were a fan (which I am, most decidedly, NOT), they have won more than their share of titles, so for them to stay home in October would not be ...
The death toll in the school hostage situation in Russia is now at 322, as well as all 26 militants who seized the school. For once, I am speechless. I look at my beautiful children, and I cannot even begin to conceive of what a hateful, horrible heart one must have to consider them to be targets to make a political point. Frankly, I cannot see murdering to make a political point to begin with, let alone murdering innocent children. Perhaps the most horribly wretched part of this is, a...
This year will be the 5th presidential election in which I have voted. And it will be the first in which I will not vote for a major party. I watched the Democratic party primaries with genuine interest, hoping they could produce a centrist candidate that I could reasonably support. What they gave us, however, was John Kerry, who, in my opinion, is giving excellent lessons in how to lose an election. Barring a remarkable turnaround (basically, he'll have to win all three debates, in my ...
OK, I'm going to clearly outline this as an opinion piece, as there are some that have the trouble making the distinction between opinion and hard news. Feel free to disagree, but let's try to stay on topic, shall we? We are a country that has lost our vision. With no clearly defined purpose, we have splintered off in separate directions and begun milling around, in desperate hope that a leader with a vision will be clearly defined and "rescue" us from ourselves. To that end, we have clung...
Well, I got back from my job interview today, and I'm reasonably certain it went well. The position is one as support staff for supported employment for the developmentally disabled (I'm immensely qualified). In addition to answering the standard questions flawlessly, I discussed plans that I had for implementing new supports programs and expansion of the agency. The way I see it, having a vision never hurts. Now I'm just waiting for the phone to ring, so wish me luck.
This is a continuation of an earlier discussion. For those who know me, acting as an apologist for the GOP is roughly akin to eating a bile pizza on "Fear Factor"; however, the Republican record on civil rights has been so badly distorted by Democratic revisionists that I do feel a correction is in order. I will probably have more information on the more recent Republican record later, however, this applies principally to the Civil Rights Movement of the 50's and 60's. First, in defense of...
Well, I'm back from my job interview at the brothel. It's not too bad a gig if I can get it, although I'll have to cut my hair (history, maybe you need to email me that El DeBarge pic after all so I can take it to the stylist...lol). Unfortunately, they did not have any openings for training the new girls (Gid didn't ask about the S&M room...Gid wants to forget that the S&M room is there!). Anyway, he has other people to interview, but between tonight's interview and tomorrow it looks like...
OK, latest news in the Gideon search for a job saga is that I received a callback from the brothel and am going down there to interview tonight. I also have a job interview tomorrow that I have about a 95% certainty to nail, but I think working for a brothel could be a very interesting career to add to my resume. I'll let you guys know how it goes after the interview.
OK, I have been challenged on another thread in my assertion that the Republicans were the frontrunners in the civil rights movement, rather than the Democrats. What follows are statements from an article from "the National Review" on January 9, 2003 written by John Fonte and entitled "Conservatives Can be Proud of their Civil Rights Record". While one can challenge the editorial slant of the piece, the congressional votes are a matter of public record and can be verified with relative ease. ...
OK, So in my quest for gainful employment I am not turning anything down, and there was a listing for a handyman/security at one of the local brothels. I decided to go check it out. While there, I was invited to take a tour of the facilities with one of the ladies. I was very impressed with a rather high class facility...it was every bit as nice as the finer hotels in Vegas (although one certainly pays for the use of the facilities...Private bungalows with the ladies rent out starting a...
OK, this is a nod to our Aussie contingent. I am, on principle, against the idea of compulsory voting, but I think it would be an interesting debate topic. Here are my questions: To Australians: What are the pros and cons from your point of view of your compulsory voting system? Have you seen abuses and how would you act to eliminate those abuses if you have seen them. To Americans (and anyone without a compulsory voting system): Do you think compulsory voting would be a practical id...
