The journey from there to here

I attended a meeting of a new economic development corporation in the nearby community. As a fiscal conservative, the idea of such things make me nervous, and this was passed by a VERY slim margin (100 votes out of 4,000 cast). Bacause of my perspective, and the fact that the paper generally supports the EDC, I think I might have an angle on a column for the paper from the more critical perspective.

When I attended the meeting of the (newly formed) corporation today, there were 5 people in attendance that were NOT on the board...and I was the only one there voluntarily. The paper, being short staffed, had no representatives present.

Because this is a hot local topic, I'm going to approach the editor about covering the meetings from a "joe citizen" perspective. My hope is that, by helping him familiarize himself with my work, I may eventually work my way into some freelance assignments (again, the paper is VERY short staffed...they have more stories than they have people to report them).

Wish me luck, folks. I think I can sell this concept!

Hello Joe Citizen!  Great inroad!  I hope it gets better.

This will not affect your campaign will it?  I surely hope not!

Talk about being a mouthpiece for action and change! I am so proud to know you. Keep it up and we'll one day all hail the first Libertarian POTUS.

Gideon, you should go over to blogspot (for instance) and see how your blogging will pay you to write (through the use of the ads they have on the site - which you can revenue co-share. This is ridiculous, your writing is excellent. You need to make money; better to put bread on your own table, than to make a rich man richer.
