The journey from there to here

Well, you know, I hate to jump on the liberal bandwagon, but it seems we did, indeed go to war on false pretenses. We were attacked viciously and many Americans lost their lives, but did we retaliate directly against the attackers? No. We instead attacked another nation, a sovereign nation that was not a direct threat to us at the time.

To that end I demand we pay reparations to the nation of Germany and work to restore the Nazi Party to power. We had no right to invade following the December 7, 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor!

(see how silly that is?)

Kinda late there, Col beat you to the punch on this story. The guy has a Hawk eye for Bush stories.

I say we should not vote for Bush next elections.

Frankly, if you wanted to carry the modern "diplomacy" kick through with that, we could have done a whole lot more to placate the Japanese, instead of imposing sanctions and taking an antagonistic stance. I've even asked in other discussions how Lincoln would be perceived today, embarking on a diplomatic endeavor that led to the deaths of hundreds of thousands of Americans...

"I say we should not vote for Bush next elections."

Very true. I think we should give the Col the credit he is due if G.W. Bush doesn't win in 2008...

forgive him his ignorance!  Bennifer is a new user and as such is still under the impression he knows something.  When the opposite is true.

It's all about spin, baby. But yeah, we wanted to go to war to unseat Saddam. The world is a better place. Who's next? We're taking all comers.

The similarities between the U.S. involvement in Europe during WWII and the war in Iraq is uncanny. But that was "a good war" where the U.S. was 100% right about everything, so of course we shouldn't even think of comparing the two... no matter how many things they have in common. ;~D

This new SPAM software could almost make you believe the spammer came and looked at your site. Generic comments on the first line such as "Hey, nice blog page. Definitely worth a bookmark." followed by a link blurb give it away, though.

To play Liberal's Advocate:

At least Germany and Japan were allied in war, a true "Axis of evil." And it's not like we neglected the war on Japan once we started in on Germany. The "old Japanese soldier hiding on an island and still fighting because he doesn't know the war ended 30 years earlier" story hardly compares to the regrouping Taliban forces and the "warlords" running wild.

But that's just to play Liberal's Advocate...

There was never a proven link between 9/11 and Iraq's government - not one.
That shoots your argument to hell. Sorry.

It is the war on Terror.  Or have you forgotten that?  Guess so, with the attention span of an infant.

Oh, but in all actuality, there was.

You see, We declared War upon TERRORISM...not just the Taliban. Saddam was a terror to his ppl (I mean, really, the guy killed, tortured, raped and maimed his own ppl). He also funded terrorist. That puts him at American Enemy #1 in this war....Remember, we said that we would deal with nations that sponsors or harbors them. Saddam sponsored them with his pay-outs.
