Those who have read our story are well aware of our fight against our county "CPS". While sentiment seems to be running about 2 to 1 against us, we have nonetheless received a lot of support and prayers from each of you.
In our quest to fight CPS, I have found a new love, or, actually, rediscovered an old one. It's called the US Constitution.
No matter what historians may say about their lifestyles, their actions, their motives and such, our founding fathers were wise men. They wrote into our Constitution protections that we, as citizens, have against government control. The regime of Nazi Germany, for instance, could not happen here IF our citizens were willing to stand up and defend their Constitutional rights. There are two many protections, and, despite a number of bad decisions over the past several decades, the Supreme Court has nonetheless made FAR MORE GOOD decisions than bad.
But those rights are only valid if you use them. If you refuse to stand up for what you know to be your rights, then you not only endanger your own rights, but those of others as well.
In short, I have RIGHTS as a citizen. Those rights are GUARANTEED by the United States Constitution. But I have RESPONSIBILITIES as a citizen as well. If I sit back on my laurels and do nothing while government agencies strip away my Constitutional rights, I have no valid cause for complaint when they are all gone. My RESPONSIBILITIES include forcing law enforcement officers (or pseudo-law enforcement officers) to follow the RULE OF LAW. THEY are bound by the same laws that bind me.
I have never loved the Constitution so deeply and thoroughly as I do at this moment. I am, for one of the few times in my life, PROUD to be a citizen of the United States of America.
