The internet is an amazing thing.
It is my primary source of information, and a major source of entertainment. It is also a major means of communication.
But I can't say that everything that it has provided me with has been pleasant. In my time on here, I've been sickened by the sheer numbers of Americans who are crusading hard against the concept of liberty.
Our founding fathers fought a brutal war against the tyranny of England. But the tyranny of the crown in the 18th century pales in comparison to the tyranny we are willing to inflict on our own people, in the name of progress.
One blogger's blogs have basically become a laundry list of things she wants banned. Another advocates for eradication of the free enterprise economy and a total surrender to a socialist way of life, without even stopping to think of the consequences (for starters, despite all the stupid drugs, there have been a great number of USEFUL drugs created by drug manufacturers due to stiff competition with others; the result is a lifespan that couldn't have been imagined a mere 100 years ago).
These bloggers are not alone, though. A quick google search will show a strong leftist movement to overthrow the principles of democracy (they've tried to usurp the past two presidential elections, and, as a minority in the House and Senate, are doing their best to put roadblocks in the way of every GOP proposal). They do not care for a republic, nor do they care for liberty, but rather for their own conceited self interest. Their OPINION trumps all, no matter what others might think (even if those others happen to be in the MAJORITY).
This past presidential election was a winnable one for the Democrats. Regardless of theories of WHY they self destructed, the fact remains, they did. And they must deal with the consequences.
But rather than deal, they have showed the ugly sides of themselves, essentially trying to undermine election results in courts, and questioning the intelligence of the American public because they won't subscribe to their own narrow agenda.
It is time to remember the sacrifices of our forefathers. Sacrifices made so that we might know what it's like to live as free men and women in a free democracy. We must stop demanding government oversight of every area of our lives, lest the sacrifices of all those brave men and women be counted in vain.
