The journey from there to here

I don't think this has ever happened before in my LIFE. There are FOUR movies either released or soon to be released, that are on my "must see list".

They are (in no particular order):

Star Wars Ep. 3 (True, the other two were train wrecks, but I have to see this through to the end. Plus...how bad could it be with Vader showing up?

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (Though this could miss, the special effects look great. I'm just afraid they'll be too serious with it and miss Doug Adam's satire).

Sahara

Sin City

I missed the last two that I desperately wanted to see in the theaters ("Kill Bill" vol. 2 and "Return of the King") because I have lived the past year and a half more than 40 miles from the nearest theater. It's just a bummer that, what from my perspective stands to be the best movie year since I've been ALIVE, also stands to be the first movie year in which I don't get to see a single film in the theaters.

Bummer.

I saw Sin City with my son last weekend.  It is not one I would recommend, but YMMV.

I really liked Sin City. Not a movie for everyone, not by a long shot. VERY violent, very nihilistic, with a few little beams of hope here and there. On the same tone as Kill Bill 1 & 2, but much darker.

I'll probably go see Star Wars. Hitchhiker's Guide is going to suck, hard, and no one is going to convince me differently. The PREVIEWS are bad, and totally out of synch with the book. IMHO they are trying to turn it into a hip, 5th element type thing. I heard they got really cheap about halfway throught the filming as well.

I dunno about Sahara, I haven't been too engaged by the previews.

That's what I'm afraid of, sadly, but my loyalty to Doug Adams kinda pushes me to at least WATCH it.

As for "Sahara", I am assuming it's an adaptation of the Clive Cussler novel? That's the assumption I'm going by in wanting to see it, anyway.
