Here's the problem I see coming out of the inane congressional steroid investigations. See,certain senators have specified that they want ALL sports tested,at ALL levels.
With that in mind, I present the following scenario:
Little Johnny is an insulin dependent diabetic. He is a dextrously challenged six year old, but he has always had a passion for baseball, if not the skills to match. His ever vigilant mother keeps a ready supply of insulin and needles, knowing that Johnny's condition requires her to not have to run to the hospital at a moment's notice. Because she buys in as large amounts as possible, some labels have slipped off some of the bottles.
And so it goes. Johnny, for all his clumsiness, is full of heart. In the ninth inning, he steps up to the plate, with his three friends, Fred, Brendan, and Ashley, standing at the respective bases, knowing that Johnny's swing will probably be the end of the game.
But the baseball gods are with Johnny tonight, and he connects with a long, perfect drive that clears the outstretched mitt of the center fielder. Astonished, the referee produces a cup and demands Johnny give a urine sample in the ballpark restroom facilities. He further searches Johnny's gym bag, and Johnny's mother's purse, and finds needles and several vials of unlabelled substances, which are confiscated and sent to the lab for testing. Johnny is suspended pending the outcome of testing.
Meanwhile, Jeff Slugalot, the famous big league slugger, ponies up with his favorite masking agent, and all is right with the world!
