The journey from there to here

Well, as the inane train wreck known as the Michael Jackson trial proceeds, I have to admit, there's a good amount of reasonable doubt at this point. Personally, I find the man repulsive and creepy, but those aren't the legal standards for conviction.

What will be interesting to see, however, is how his life is AFTER this trial. News reports state that Neverland employees haven't been paid for five days, and many experts believe he is near bankruptcy. His indulgences, to put it simply, may have cost him far more than this trial ever will, especially as his ability to earn a living as a singer has likely been affected.

One thing, though, if he IS innocent (which I don't think I'll ever be FULLY convinced of, even if he is found "not guilty" on this particular charge): I DO hope the man realizes the best way to avoid such future legal challenges is to stop sleeping in the same bed with young boys!

stop sleeping in the same bed with young boys0

Or at least stop saying that you see no problem with it during a nationally televised interview. I mean, come on.

You know, my wife and I have 2 children right now with one on the way, and we have always slept in the same bed together. My first slept in our bed for about a couple months after our second was born, then he moved to a kid's size couch/bed . As soon as the baby girl comes our way he's moving into his little couch/bed. So our bedroom will be a bit crowded. Peoplewise, not spacewise. My point is that there is nil nada nothing wrong with a parent sleeping with their children, but it should never be done if it's not family involved. It leaves too much to speculation. Michael Jackson is a child/younger adult molester and of that there is no doubt. Of course you can argue the case under the law perspective, then yeah there may not be enough real tangible evidence against him. But under the off-the-record perspective, we all know he likes young boys too much and he's been through this before a couple times so you can establish a pattern. I personally think he doesn't think he's doing anything wrong from his own perspective. I truly think he means all that he says about loving kids and the face of God and all those weird fascinations. But I also think he knows the consequences if society in general found out what he was and is doing, hence his stable of lawyers. But before the blame is assigned I certainly hope everyone will put the parents of those molested children on the list. It's enabling to such a high level it's not enabling anymore. It's enabling+25% more. The parents were all aware of Jackson's court history, which included the molesting charge he paid off on. It it possible the parents, or some of them, hope to collect on hush money or a legal settlement? They dropped their kids off at his doorstep.

No doubt Jackson is way wierd, but I believe he is a victim of his wierdness, more so than a child molester.
These people are scam artist and Michael is their mark, look for a civil suit once this case is cleared.

Things to ponder;

The DA has a hard-on for Jackson. ( he is Hook, to Michael's Peter Pan )

Paul McCartney REALLY wants to own the Beatles songbook
( yes, Michael owns the rights to the Beatles songs )

How much of this "child-like" persona is a product of Jackson's experience growing up ?

Geraldo Rivera thinks Jackson is innocent, and has stated so publicly.

Where has Pee Wee gone when we need him?

True, Michael Jackson's lawyers did a great job of impeaching the "brother" witness. What I am interested in, is when the DA gets to all the evidence that was reportedly collected from Michael Jackson's home during the investigation. Causing confusion within a kid's mind while on the stand is one thing (whether he was lying or not), physical evidence is far more difficult to explain away.

My sneaking suspicion on this situation is that he has molested kids, but in the little world he has created for himself... there is nothing wrong with what he's done.

One thing that has always struck me about it is how you never hear about little girls at neverland. I saw an inverview with the guy who what involved with security there, and he said that in the years he saw untold numbers of boys stay over with Micheal, he saw next-to-no girls.

Does that mean he molested this particular boy? Nope. At this point I would have to go with my gut, though. The who "Jesus Juice" stuff just sounds so much like the Jackson in the BBC interview. I figure that is what is going to happen with the jurors, too. I think at least some of them are going to have reasonable doubt about this case, but just assume he is a pedophile anyway.

Bingo. There's nothing wrong with a parent sleeping in the same bed, but I personally feel that when a grown man consistently INVITES young men over to his home to sleep in the same bed with him, there are at best latent pedophiliac tendencies, at worst, well, you know...

That's probably what this case hinges on the most; whether the jury goes with its gut or objectively examines the evidence. If the former, MJ is toast. If the latter, well, the defense may be doing a good job casting reasonable doubt.

An interesting "X factor" will be Corey Feldman's testimony, which basically corroborates that MJ showed the kids porn and gave them alcohol. Though Feldman's motives could be considered suspect, we have to remember this is a man who consistently defended Jackson up to this point. So, even that could go either way.

The saddest thing about this is, most Americans have become highly cynical (especially in the post-OJ era), and expect MJ to buy his way out.
