I must tell you about my next door neighbor. He is an incredibly generous individual, who will help out anyone in a heartbeat. He has raised up his children, his grandchildren, and now is pretty much the primary caregiver for his great grandchildren.
Unfortunately, his doctors recently spotted a blockage in his arteries. Fortunately, further tests showed that it wasn't serious and can probably be treated with medication. What got me, though, was last weekend when we were sitting around at the Senior Center (the social hub of our community; the Lions Club was having pictures with Santa), and discussing our favorite foods. He commented that he eats a breakfast of eggs, sausage AND bacon, biscuits and gravy 5 to 6 days out of the week.
Now, I'm not one to jump up with a lecture on physics, mind you, but it does seem that if you're gonna eat that much saturated fat in one sitting, some of it's bound to find its way into your arteries.
On the flip side, though, if I'm as healthy as he is at 73, I think I'd keep on with the same breakfast routine as well!
