The journey from there to here

Well, LW has the solution for everything, as listed in her article on how to butcher people. But before I meet the axe, being unemployed, likely soon to be homeless, and receiving public benefits:

*I did not ask for public assistance. For 16 years, although i have switched jobs, I have shown up to work, done my job and received a paycheck -- WITHOUT receiving the public dime.

*I did not ask to be on the brink of homelessness -- safety nets such as TANF and unemployment, which are supposed to be there when you're down and out -- AREN'T (incidentally, if my wife and I divorced, she could get benefits and I'd just have to give up 2/3 of my paycheck for child support...family values, my ASS

*I did not ask to be terminated for work. I did everything my boss asked for me, and even showed up 15 minutes early to service my truck on my own time, rather than hers.

*I did not ask to remain unemployed. I have turned in applications at every place in town that will take them. I have received 3 interviews, none of them have panned out as of yet.

I know you put out the piece as a satirical piece, LW, so please don't construe this as an angry retort. It's not. Frankly, although I had no means to take you up on it, your offer to assist us was BEYOND generous, so I know well where your heart is, and appreciate you for it. I just feel that there are some individuals who may somewhat misconstrue the tone of your article, and wanted to air my side as well.
