What do Milosevic, Hitler, Idi Amin, and Gideon MacLeish have in common?
OK, this one off the funny papers.
In the now growing war against me (no, I'm not kidding, it's gotten pretty stupid), I have been accused of violating someone's human rights.
Did I hack into their computer and edit their blogs? Did I manipulate joeuser's servers and hide them? No...I CRITICIZED them. For this, I get categorized as a "human rights" violator.
Please show me any international agreement that stipulates the right to blog without criticism. It isn't there.
What I cannot escape here is the irony of it all -- I have spent much more time PROMOTING blogs than I have criticizing them -- at least 9 to 1 at my last count, unless you count the jokes about the biznet blogs, which I don't, as those are bots anyway.
For all the due diligence the individual who criticized me promised in promoting the blog I criticized, he has left a scant single reply. It seems to me, one who was working to rectify such a "human rights violation" could do more than that. I think an homage blog to the greatness of your subject wouldn't be out of order.
The flagrant asshat attitude expressed to me by this individual and some of his friends (not all...most are, fairly, not taking sides) does nothing to encourage me to mend fences. If anything, it encourages me to build them higher.
signing off,
Gideon MacLeish
