Ramping up another road show

The Valley Blue Dog Democrat

Is the Libertarian presidential candidate, Michael Badnarik, the last man standing against the war?

Hey, folks! If you're against the war, you ought to be supporting a Libertarian instead.

Valley resident and Libertarian supporter Joe Rudmin said, "Only a vote for a Libertarian candidate sends a message that one has had enough of plundering. The Libertarian Party is the only party that would get the U.S. out of Iraq; the only party that would restore our liberties; the only party that would abide by the U.S. Constitution, and eliminate all the unconstitutional taxes and programs."

A recent Libertarian presidential candidate press release stated: "It's hard to pin John Kerry down. He might add troops. Or he might bring troops out. Or maybe he'd put together a bigger alliance to keep the troop level steady. John Kerry might do a lot of things about Iraq, but on Monday he made his one unequivocal statement on the issue: Had he been president, he'd have taken the U.S. to war in Iraq, too."

"When John Kerry takes a firm position, I'm willing to take him at his word," Badnarik said. "Such a rare occurrence commands that much respect.

"So here's another question for John Kerry," Badnarik continues, "why should the majority of Americans who now believe that the war was a tragic mistake vote for him?"

That's a valid question, don't you think?

Page County resident and Libertarian supporter Dave Switzer said, "Recently, I viewed Michael Moore's 'Fahrenheit 9/11.' Regardless of your thoughts regarding the film as a whole, I ask you to consider the footage of the congressional ratification of the 2000 election results. Multiple African-American congressmen and congresswomen objected during the proceedings, but their objections would not be considered without the signature of one senator. In other words, there was not one single Democratic senator willing to object formally even thought there had been significant concern previously expressed by members of the Democratic Party that the election had been 'stolen' by the Republicans."

"Clearly, the election was not stolen. This looks more like it was given away. Perhaps the post-election hysteria was all just a grand media show to portray nonexistent bitter differences and conflict between the two parties. At any rate, in the end, it appears that the Democratic senators really did not care who won the election."

Mr. Switzer, there are a lot of Democrats that are questioning former vice president Al Gore.

And those Democratic senators, for playing possum after the 2000 election on the floor of the U.S. Senate, especially after watching Michael Moore's 9/11 movie.
