The journey from there to here

Well, sorry for another blog complaining about the heat, but it darn near kicked my rear end today. And the heat advisory now has been continued through tomorrow, which means AT LEAST another day in this miserable, wretched (but at least it's a DRY HEAT!) climate.

I went through my 3.25 gallons of water by 1:00 (I work until two), and had to make a run for an emergency powerade supply. Before I hit the sack, I will drink another 3-4 gallons of water; it seems impossible to drink enough.

Oh well...at least I can laugh at the rest of you when you're freezing in January.

signing off,

I know what you mean. It was over 120 in the shade on the patio yesterday.

What can you do with dodos like us who look at the Mohave Desert and say, "Wow, that looks like a great place to live!"

Yeah, in my last days in L.A. I was freezing when the temperature was in the 70's and 80's. I could never live back east. They have this really cold white stuff that actually falls from the sky. It's like once a year God's automatic ice maker malfunctions and starts spilling over. No thank you.

Wow, you must live fairly close. I didn't realize you were another one of us "desert rats".

Oh well, in another couple months, the snowbirds will be back, talking about how this area is ideal...they didn't have to suffer through the summer for it...lol.

Gideon: Sounds bad. I hate hot almost as much as I hate cold. Luckily for me, Hawaii is pretty much the same all year round. We don't even have AC. I just open the windows and let the tradewinds in. Ahhhhh . . . nice and breezy.
