For years, we've had to suffer through the annual "war on Christmas", a hyperbolic happening invented by "conservative" talk show hosts to boost their ratings. I've always had a cynic's eye view to the proceedings, though, and I find what they view to be "persecution" of Christians to be laughable; frankly, any "persecution" that doesn't involve lions, fire, or torture is, to me, more than a bit of a blessing.
If you want to see a war on Christmas, though, go to New Delhi (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20071226/ap_on_re_as/india_churches_attacked;_ylt=Aic3mDiHz1KZAikmK7QnO.ms0NUE), where Hindu extremists attacked the minority Christians during a holiday service. Although there are disputed accounts about who initiated the conflict, this is much more real and serious than any school altering the "sacred" words to "Silent Night".
I'm glad to be free for another 11 months of the "war on Christmas" rhetoric. Meanwhile, as I spend the rest of the year listening to the "war on Christians" rhetoric, I, for one, am mighty glad that this "war on Christians" invlves little more than puerile name calling!
