OK, I'm tired of this.
Sometime ago I was challenged by a certain individual on the text of the second amendment. I contend that it reads as follows:
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
This particular individual contends that it is much longer, and that all texts available on the Internet are wrong and that we have been duped by a government that will not allow us access to our own Constitution. All, that is, except for him, the one person who read the REAL Constitution which was squirreled away into the San Francisco Public Library to protect it from the eyes of citizens.
So what do YOU think? Is my version, which is consistent with what has been accepted by legal scholars and taught in law libraries (and is, in fact, consistent with what law libraries including Cornell publish to their website) the genuine text of the Second Amendment, or are we the victims of a dark conspiracy, one so dark, so sinister, that our citizens (excepting those who have a SF Public Library card) are not given access to the laws that govern their lives? A conspiracy thus far advanced and supported by ONE individual with no corroborating source whatsoever, save his own deranged mind?
You be the judge. One of us belongs in the looney bin. I'll leave it to you to decide who.
