The journey from there to here

There's a newspeak term for illegal aliens in this country, one that frankly, I'm glad to see. It's a word that shows the TRUE intentions of the illegal immigration movement, and shows that assimilation, unity, and citizenship are NOT the goals of these people, but rather conquest and imperialism.

The term is "nuevo pioneers", and it raises the acrid taste of bile in the back of my throat.

Think about it. How do we view pioneers. We view them as settlers to undiscovered lands, as builders, as civilizing influences. The implication is that the lands they are settling are unsettled, uncivilized.

While not all illegals are Mexican, a strong percentage are. Mexico is a third world nation, as are Honduras, Guatemala, Nicaragua, and other nations with a high percentage of ILLEGAL ALIENS who come to this country and settle. These ILLEGAL ALIENS are not the best of the best, they're not the builders, they're not the innovators. They are the sickly, the poor, the slothful, and, most alarmingly, the criminal. While there are a few of their number who may achieve something, most, sadly, will be fortunate to being their families close to the poverty line.

I contended long ago that there was a movement among the illegals called "Republico del Norte" that aims to reclaim America's southwest, land that Mexico, in particular, is still embittered about losing. I was shouted down by most as a racist, but propagandist language like this would indicate that I am not as far off the mark as they'd figured. And, more frighteningly, that the movement is not as extremist as even I had thought it to be. If a suburban Texas housewife can subscribe to it and the propaganda of its proponents, then how many others are there out there who hold the same views but don't speak them for fear of identification?

I am all for providing opportunity. But providing it the RIGHT way. Any ILLEGAL ALIEN caught with falsified identification should be charged with a felony and deported immediately upon conviction, with a permanent bar to reentry. Let's give all the opportunity in the world to people who want to help BUILD our nation, but let's give NOTHING to those who would destroy it, these "nuevo pioneers". The proof of their ingenuity lies in their blighted cities, their low GDP, their high crime rate and the mass exodus of their people. Let's not let them bring their "ingenuity" to OUR shores.

Now she's whining about being blacklisted because I apparently can't handle any disagreement. I'll address it here.

It's not disagreement, it's rampant name calling, picking and choosing the issues to answer so you don't look bad when you don't answer the ones that have no answer, deliberately inflaming...all the hallmarks of a troll, and someone I don't want on my thread.

Amazingly, this individual probably sees herself as a hero for being an activist for all these thugs. What she doesn't seem to realize, though, is her obnoxious approach pretty much nullifies the chance of her changing anyone's mind!

For as angry as she's made me lately, I think she just happens to know a few illegals personally, they just happen to be of the stereotype she's advancing (the poor, hardworking lettuce-picker who only wants to feed his family) and that personal experience has blinded her to certain facts.

See, I don't see it this way because she's pipelining information straight from the far left blog sites. She's letting the illegal movement do to her what the antiwar movement did to Cindy Sheehan. If that's the kind of person she wants to become, that's fine. I know how to direct my clicks elsewhere when her name pops up.

I'll agree that her rhetoric has escalated into an inflammatory nature, and she seems to be taking great joy in seeing how far she can push it.

I won't condemn her for that. I do it all the time. People troll me for it. I troll others for it. I trolled her for it. It's just another day in JU as far as I'm concerned.

Yeah, until she calls others out for that exact same tactic. That's what got me.

There's a newspeak term for illegal aliens

Eeeewww!  Eeeeeewww! Eeeeeewwww!  (in my best Arnold Horshack voice).

Since I said it first, can I be the originator of calling it newspeak?

On a serious note.  There has never been any hidden agenda by some to reclaim the Southwest for mexico.  Something they held for a scant 30 years (and spain had it a lot longer!).  But you will find that they are a distinct minority.  Not because they are not proud of their heritage.  But because they know that as bad as it "appears" (damn - where are those sarcasm tags), it is a lot worse under Mexican rule.

As it was 150 years ago.  The Southwest, for the most part (Florida, Texas, and the Gadsen Purchase excepted) were annexed by the US.  But with the approval of the residents (who for the most part were not robbed of their land), because they hated the distant yoke of Mexico city that was strangling them.

Nuevo pioneers, so what does this make us Puerto Ricans, viejo pioneers?
