The journey from there to here

It looks so ominous:

A line of T-storms off to the west headed this way. Yeah, it's part of living in this part of the country, but it's kinda cool and scary at the same time to WATCH the front moving in gradually.

Now, those who know me know I LIVE for these kinds of things, so I'm hoping we get hit with a pretty decent maelstrom. I'm just wishing I could be out to chase it.

I miss that weather.

I know I'm a sicko, but I miss the excitement and the way a storm smells and how the sky looks. I miss huddling together in anticipation of a run to the basement.

Of course now that I have little ones I probably won't like it that much.

I am going to be in Texas this summer, btw!

Enjoy your storm, Gid.

Yeah, it's just hitting here in Lamar, CO. The sky started growing dark about an hour ago and the rain started about 10 minutes ago. It's been very windy all day.

heh, my wife is a Weather Channel addict.  Anytime there is a major weather event she'll sit watching The Weather Channel until it is over, done, over-analyzed and beaten into the ground.

Me, I'm happy with an ocassional T-Storm passing through, and yes, I love the change of seasons and the different weather that each season brings, but I never pay that much attention to what is really coming or going (unless I have a baseball game to go to, then I pay a little attention to how cold or wet it may be at the stadium for the day I'd be going).

We have been mired in severe drought for several years, terp. This year has been quite a bit wetter than usual. It is very welcome.

How is your storm chasing going?  I know you wanted to, have you had any opportunities to lately?

This year I'm mainly working when the big ones hit. Quite different than last year, when we were out in the countryside delivering papers watching the supercells build. Didn't need no steenkeeng RADAR for that...lol!
