The journey from there to here

I love strawberry cheesecake ice cream. Of all flavors, it is my favorite.

So I was quite pleased when standing in front of the selection of Ben and Jerry's ice cream. There in front of me was that nectar of the gods, strawberry cheescake ice cream.

It would have been wrong of me to resist. I bought a pint.

All I could think of while eating it was "damn, them hippies make great ice cream". Big chunks of strawberries, a very definite and distinct cheesecake flavor (unlike so many brand where their strawberry cheesecake is little better than strawberry ripple), and the piece de resistance, big hunks of graham cracker scattered throughout.

Ya know, as long as hippies keep making ice cream like this we might have to keep them around

I'll stick with Dove or Haagen Daas, at least they don't make a political statement with their frosty treats, much less a hypocritical political statement.

Yeah, that's why I didn't bring up their BGH-Free hype. As you know, I'm actually in favor of certain genetically modified foods for their ability to feed more people with fewer resources.

We all gotta die sometime! LOL! But I DO see your point here.

I hate you. Now, all I can think about is strawberry cheesecake ice cream. And I was so trying not to go to walmart tonight.

Kinda makes me glad I'm lactose intolerant.

I ate a pint (yes, I ate the whole damn thing) of Vermonty Python yesterday.

I love Ben & Jerrrys ice cream, although I eat it infrequently.  My favorite kinds are Fossil Fuel and Chunky Monkey.

I am concerned about the hormones in milk, but it's not really something I consider when I buy ice cream.  I would love to switch to hormone-free or organic milk, but I'm having a hard time coming to grips with the price.  Not to mention, every other food in the world has dairy in it, and it's next to impossible to find all those foods hormone-free.

I have been checking stores to see when they'll get Chilly Willy (Willie Nelson Peach Cobbler) ice cream back. The original was mislabeled, so it was recalled. (Something about not mentioning a wheat product. . .)

In the meantime, I have gotten kind of hooked on Stephen Colbert's Americone Dream.

Hope ya like a little dioxin with your dairy, Gid.

Ahh, why not in ice cream? dioxin is (was) pretty well the active ingredient in 2,4,5, T (ala agent orange?) which has been used for years here in Texas in combination with 2,4, D to kill mesquite (along with a,a,a-Trifluoro-2,6-dinitro-N,N-dipropyl-p-

toluidine which is also known as "Treflan," a herbicde for preemergant use in cotton). Ha! I've been covered in the shit sans any kind of rubber gloves protection and shirtless whatsoever for years way back in the day before we knew better...

(of course times have prolly changed by now...)
So...yeah, gimme some of dat ice cream!
