The journey from there to here

This just in, from the "they have no damn idea what they're talking about" department:

As we're about midway through a hurricane season that "experts" had predicted to have nearly apocalyptic proportions, they have lowered their estimate on hurricanes to five. The disastrous season forecast did not come about, and as these (expletive deleted, plural) watch Tropical depression, or storm, or party pooper Ernesto in the desperate hope it will become the Biblical plague they wanted it to be to help fulfill their predictions, they warn that two of these hurricanes will be bad. Their accuracy rate is about equal to that of Miss Cleo's.

Think they'll pay up if I demand my money back because their boneheaded predictions drove up oil prices on the futures market? Somehow, I doubt it.

At this rate, I have doubts about the 5.  Ernie was a hurricane for just a day, and we are into september already.
