The journey from there to here

As Connecticut's Senatorial race begins to heat up, the possibility of a Joe Leiberman victory is looming large. A Leiberman victory would be the ultimate slap in the face to Soros and the radical left "shadow party" that are trying to hijack the Democratic Party and chase the moderates (such as Leiberman) away.

A Leiberman victory would mean a Senatorial seat that will go to an Independent, and not to a Democrat. To a party trying to regain seats in November's election, this would be a loss, because it would be a seat given up to the party's extreme arrogance and exclusive mentality. Ironically, as they accuse the GOP and Bush of a "you're either with us or against us" mentality, the same mentality has cast a man who was only 6 short years ago the party's VP candidate out of the Democratic Party. And while he could switch his affiliation once elected, it seems unlikely that Leiberman, a sane man by most accounts, would do so to the party that so cruelly betrayed him after years of faithful service.

The Democrats may have been handed a seat in the US house, with Delay's removal of his name from the ballot (but don't count the Libertarian candidate out yet!). But in a move that shows extremely lousy foresight, they have simply handed away a seat in the Senate, a move that could very well cost them dearly come November. Whether this is a sign of a larger DNC implosion or not is hard to say, but I would not be putting the early money on the Dems to regain the White House two years hence.

Your support of Lieberman betrays you
Hes about as republican as they get

I don't see how that is possible, since he "is" a registered DEMOCRAT! Maybe you should get your ducks in a row "before" you post.

>I don't see how that is possible, since he "is" a registered DEMOCRAT!

Actions speak louder than words. His heart and deeds are Republican.

Anyway ... I am here in Torrington CT and the mood isnt all that great either. I know the so called
polls are saying hes got an edge with independents.

I CALL BULLSHIT!!!

The same polls (up until a month or so before the primaries) predicted a win for him. Where is he now?
Rigging the election is the only way I see him winning.

I know tons of folks that changed their mind at the end ... when they realized choosing this guy
represents more of the same. If anything people are more aware ... their eyes open. And his betrayal
at the primaries by running as an independent clearly shows he will do ANYTHING to retain power.

The arrogance knows no bounds

Heres hoping this AIPAC stooge is tossed out November

Well now it's my turn.....BULLSHIT! he votes democrat 90% of the time! He has enough brains to know the other 10% is crap. And just as an aside.....it's people like you that made me want to leave CT.

AIPAC republican in democrat clothing lieberman

So, a moderate Democrat (at least when compared to the more vocal/visible portion of the party), is just a Republican in Democrats clothing?

It must feel strange, and lonely, to be so far out in left field that anything CLOSE to the center looks like it's gone over the line.

See, I see Leiberman as, almost, a left wing wack job. Not as bad as some/most, but still decidedly left of center. That's coming from my position just to the right of that moderate center, though.

Would I choose Lieberman over Lamont? Damn straight. Hmmm... I wonder if my grandparents have a spare bedroom there in CT ... Could telecommute for a couple months.

Ya know that's "exactly" what I said when I left.

One, I don't support Leiberman. But I don't support Soros, either, and I don't appreciate the prospect of him winning Senate seats.

Two, funny you call Leiberman a "republican". Your party didn't seem to think so when you chose him as your vice presidential candidate in 2000.

WOW
yet you had no problems factoring SOROS into a conversation about Lieberman and Lamont.
around here we call that HYPOCRISY ... what do you call it?

Because Soros is pulling the strings from behind the scenes.

Around here, we call it "a need for you to get a damn dictionary". hypocrisy is defined as:

--an expression of agreement that is not supported by real conviction
--insincerity by virtue of pretending to have qualities or beliefs that you do not really have

Nothing I have said has been inconsistent.

Your apparent fixation with Soros is making me start to question your sensibilities. It seems lately every post you make has something to do with Soros. I gather you just got done reading that "Shadow Party" book?

>Nothing I have said has been inconsistent.

Go back and READ your posts anew. YOU obviously missed something.

Democrats are not my party ... their selection of Liberman in 2000 was FOOLISH as Al Gore realized when
he turned around and stabbed him in the back my supporting some other candidate for 2004.

Al Gore's selection of Lieberman was just to pander to the Jewish vote ... a vote the represents less
than 1% of the voting public ... yet everyone panders to that minority of MINORITIES

That should come to an end this November.
Thing is, in the past I took voting and efforts like this for granted. I have never been as political
as I am now

ALL
INCUMBENTS
OUT

that includes that useless drone Hillary, that spineless fool Kerry ... get them all out along with
the lot of treacherous Republicans

GET THEM ALL OUT
America belongs to us all ... not the few funded by PAC's

My Carole Keeton Strayhorn post had something to do with Soros? My post on the Ramsey case had something to do with Soros? Get a grip, davad!

So you are categorically denying that Soros has anything to do with MoveOn.org or with the Lamont campaign, davad? I want you on the record on this before I prove you definitively wrong.

independent, I actually respect your concept in theory. Frankly, I'm glad I don't live in Connecticut and don't have to make a choice in this race, as I really don't feel there's a good choice to be had here. In my opinion, any way it comes up, Connecticut loses.
