As I'm working on analyzing the American left du jour, I'm starting to believe I have the answer for why they are being destroyed. And maybe I'll have to make it all into a sinister plot and write a book about it!

I believe that it all started with Ronald Reagan. When people were released from mental hospitals onto the streets in his administration, they went out and began collecting government checks. Anyone collecting a government check is going to naturally vote for those who propose bigger and bigger government checks, and that would mean the Dems.

As the newly liberated mentally ill people began gaining political power, they began joining leftist organizations that gave them greater control. And, being accustomed to institutions, they began voting for people whose ideas and strategies seemed to them to be good ideas. After all, if it's worth ranting about in a dining hall to a cascade of flung feces, it's worth ranting about at the Democratic National Convention, right?

As the years went by, they even began electing some of their own to political office until one of their own made it to the chair of the DNC.
