The journey from there to here

On July 6, Sylvester Stallone became eligible for AARP membership. On December 22, he will release his sixth "Rocky" movie in as many decades of life as he has accumulated on this rock.

Yup, in the upcoming "Rocky Balboa", he will play the monosyllabic wonder we've all come to know and love once again in his return to the ring at an age that would make even George Foreman wince. Suspension of disbelief has hit an all time high as this aging actor, too old for most action movie roles and too young for a redux of "On Golden Pond" steps into the ring once again to reprise the role that the city of Philadelphia has lovingly embraced for 30 years.

No word yet on whether Balboa's teeth will fall out when he spits into the spit bucket between rounds.

I saw some of the boxing action they were filming in Vegas... he looks pretty good!

I don't think it'll be as much of a stretch as you imagine. I doubt it'll be much of a hit, but this seems to be a movie that only got made because of the popularity of DVDs and the prospect of post-theatrical profits.

I'm gonna miss Adrian, though.

Well.. it 'is' a bit of a long stretch.. but in all truth, Stalone at least still looks pretty buff... he hasn't at least let himself go to waste over the years...

Yeah, he does look pretty buff...but there's NO WAY I could let this one pass completely...especially with a kickass title like that...lol!

supposedly this movie only cost like 24 million bucks to make. That's like piss poor in Hollywood these days, so it's almost inevitably going to turn a profit. Thus, who knows? maybe we'll be seeing a "Rocky 11" a few years (and installments) down the road . . .

It's going to turn into the "Land Before Time" series!
