The journey from there to here

Once again, the nazi left is out in force. With their armbands wrapped securely around their arm, they are demanding that Britney Spears' husband's selection of a pit bull for a family pet is somehow endangering the pop singer's child. Though unstated, the implication is pretty clear: The state should nobly swoop in dressed in full "Superman" regalia, and remove this child from its mother's arms because, of course, the state always knows best and the state would never do anything to harm a child (this in spite of strong, compelling, and consistent evidence to the contrary). This would never be said outright, of course, because if these key members of the far left were to openly reveal their dangerously anti-liberty agenda, even the moderates among their own parties would distance themselves from this mindset. Much like the eugenist policies of Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger, the true ideals of these monsters are cloaked behind jingoistic euphemisms that insist that they are from the government and they're here to help.

I won't state the facts on pit bulls and their danger to children; the facts have already been stated, and they're facts that one would have to be pretty damned stupid to ignore. But I will very readily state that, even if this pet did somehow pose a risk to Spears' children, there are many factors that we do not know, and simply cannot know. Sure, you could argue that the mere proximity of the children to these animals poses  risk, but you could extend that same logic to demand the closing of all zoos and the removal of children from parents who endanger their children by taking them there. Furthermore, because rural areas in every part of the country contain wildlife that pose a far more serious threat to children, you could extend that logic to demand that the children of all rural parents be seized.

The problem with creating a nanny state is that the state becomes a monster that is never satisfied. Once we demand that the death of any child is unjustified, we create an impossible bar that the nanny state can never pass over. The casualty of such severely flawed thinking is our liberty, ironically the very thing that these thugs demand they are trying to preserve.

It is shameful to use tabloid headlines to justify your anti-liberty agenda; even more shameful when those headlines are not even based on facts. Sure, you can make a compelling argument, but your argument quickly crumbles when others armed with better, more thorough knowledge, challenge its accuracy.

It seems that not only the left is concerned about Britney Spears selection of a pet.  This is the third blog on it yet!

I find the whole situation supremely amusing.  At least your point is the best one.

I find the situation amusing as well. What's next? Charging Brangelina with child endangerment because they took their other adopted children with them to Namibia, a country on the continent of Africa, which has the highest AIDS death rate of any continent? This is absurd, but highly revealing.

America is slowly but surely turning into the most pussyfied country on the planet, Oh don't let your child swing, he could get hurt, oh no slides are much to dangerous for little Jane or johnny, and the monkey bars are an evil communist plot to neuter the children. Look out never let them ride a pony, the horse might get stung by a bee and go crazy and trample little Jane or johnny to death. Wear helmets, elbow pads, knee pads at ALL TIMES, EVEN WHEN sleeping because they might role out of bed and hurt themselves.   BAHHHH!!!!
