As I am working on my diet again, I can't help but think of the things I am missing that I simply can't get around here. Some of those items require refrigeration, and probably wouldn't be practical to have shipped, but some of those things are shelf stable (at least if unopened), and can be shipped if I can find a good supplier. I'm listing some of them here so that those of you more familiar with the internet can direct me to good sites for supplies, if you have them.
First up is soy sour cream. Yes, I can use plain yogurt, since I do eat dairy, but I personally tend to like the taste of the soy sour cream better. I don't know if there's a shelf stable variety.
Second is canola mayonnaise. I don't need the vegan variety, but a good mayo with canola oil and using egg whites at the most would be nice.
Third is vegetable broth. Probably the easiest to find, but I can't seem to find it here.
Fourth is TVP. Again, easy in most markets, but not here.
Fifth is tofu "chicken" or "turkey". again, not shelf stable in its usual form, but vaccuum sealing can do a lot of things.
Sixth is FLAVORED baked Tostitos or Doritos. Not "Lite" versions of either, but BAKED. All I can get is the plain baked Tostitos (and I can only get those at WalMart).
I'm sure there are a lot of things I missed, but if you have a good website, I'm sure they'll be there as well. It's hard because I used to cook extensively with these things; now I can hardly find them.
Thanks for your help.
