The journey from there to here

****SHAMELESS PLUG ALERT****

Although I'm not going anywhere, I wanted to alert my readers to my newest blogsite, soon to be linked on the sidebar.

As you all know, I have been with blogexplosion for some time. They are a great service for bringing traffic to your blogs (blogclicker is another...both linked on my sidebar). Blogexplosion is launching a blog service that is supposed to pay based on readership and ad revenue. While I have no illusions about getting rich by blogging anytime soon (although I am still hopeful...if you're scouting new talent for your online magazine, drop me an email....I'm all ears, baby!), I figured it was worth a shot, so I signed up.

But what to do for a title? I already have two blogs titled "Gideon's Trumpet"...anymore would start to get confusing. But I wanted to work my pen name into the title, so I went with "The Sword of Gideon". True to the name, I am intending this blog to be a little edgier, less balanced than the other two sites. Most of the current articles on the site are syndicated, although I have at least one exclusive posted to that site (and you'd have to dig a little to find many of the syndicated articles on this site, so I thought a refresher was a good thing).

The templates offered for this site aren't the greatest, but I'm hoping that will improve as it is developed. The URL is:

Hope to see y'all there

Gid, have you tried BlogMad to generate traffic?  The ratio is better (one credit per page you view, with a 25 second timer).  I think they are still invite only, so if you don't have an invite and would like one just let me know.  I would be happy to pass one along.

You will have to tell me how your BlogCharm blog works.  I have one as well, with perhaps one article posted.

I have tried blogmad, and found their site too confusing to navigate. BE and BC are much easier.

I pay for the "silver" subscription level at BC, which gives me 1 credit per page view (as opposed to .5) with a 20 second timer, and 200 bonus credits per month. Plus there's the marketing aspect if anyone in my downline upgrades (so far, I've actually made a few bucks off of that one, believe it or not). Anyway, the kicker with BlogCharm is that it's actually supposed to share the ad revenue with you. So far it isn't much, but I have only posted 7 articles, so let's see where it goes in the long run.

I agree. There are still many things about it I find frustrating. But I am too cheap (and apathetic) to pay for traffic (plus, I am not using my blogs for anything meaningful other than a place to dump my thoughts). Best of luck with the traffic.

Well, that's what I started blogging to do, truth be told. But I'm slowly coming to realize that "Gideon MacLeish" is a marketable product; now I'm trying to market it. Not only is the ad revenue something I would like to see more of, but the more I increase my visibility, the better chance I have of the right person seeing my material.

I actually really admire that and think it is pretty cool. I wish you the best with your efforts to do so. Sadly, I imagine that my regular blogging days are numbered.
